Shelly Hogans, CMA, CPA, CIA

Shelly Hogans is a managing consultant at Empowerment Financial Advisory Services, Inc., an accounting firm offering fractional CFO and interim controller services. She specializes in Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and SEC reporting for publicly traded companies.

An active IMA volunteer, Hogans has served as an executive board member of IMA’s Pittsburgh Chapter, a Campus Influencer, and co-chair of the Outreach Committee of IMA’s Global Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee. She is also a lifetime member and past national board member for the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA) and past executive board member for the Pittsburgh chapters of the National Black MBA Association and Financial Executives International (FEI).

Hogans holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting with honors and highest distinction from Pennsylvania State University’s Smeal College of Business and an MBA with a concentration in finance from Drexel’s University’s LeBow College of Business. As an adjunct professor, she has taught intermediate accounting to adult learners at Indiana Wesleyan University and Point Park University. Hogans serves on IMA’s Volunteer Leadership Standing Board Committee.
